Arugula, also known as rocket or Italian cress, is a bitter, tart, and peppery leafy salad green that is excellent for adding a slightly spicy note to salads and sandwiches. It is very popular in Italian cuisine. The leaves tend to be deep green in colour with deep notches up and down both sides. Some leaves have full, round ends while others are more pointy. Arugula is frequently eaten raw as a salad green but can also be enjoyed cooked in a variety of dishes.

We are now bagging some salad greens in paper bags in order to reduce our single use plastics. We recommend storing your greens in a reusable container (glass or plastic) with a paper towel. Greens need to breathe a little bit, but it's also important that they don't dry out! If you have a high-humidity crisper drawer, that is the best place for it.
