Brandeston Farm
Brandeston Farm is a family owned and operated multi-acre market garden. They are deeply committed to having a positive relationship with their local community, and that goal is at the heart of everything they do.
The family moved to the farm and began stewarding the land in the 1880’s. For the last few decades the land was rented to other farmers for hay and cropping, but in 2019 the family began working the farm themselves. They use low impact, sustainable growing practices and environmentally beneficial, natural inputs such as compost, organic hen manure, and organic fertilizers. Insects and pests are addressed with netting, companion planting, and manual methods.
Their philosophy centres on providing a nurturing and enriching work environment for their team, fostering both productivity and learning. Beyond the farm gates, Brandeston Farm is dedicated to supporting local food banks, initiating weekly donations from May through November. At Brandeston Farm, they aim to expand their operations, feeding more people and leveraging resources to address meaningful issues that affect the community and beyond.
