Blythe Weber and Adam Smith started Spade & Spoon in 2008 on their family farm in Trent Hills, Ontario, and they have sold their small-batch preserves at markets since 2009. Pots and spoons, not vats, are the tools of the kitchen.

Ontario red peppers meet habanero and cayenne in a jelly that balances sweet and heat. Set it on a board with cheese and crackers, glaze grilled sausages with it, or try it the playful way, on a peanut butter sandwich.
