Kozlik's Canadian Mustard has been family owned and operated in Toronto since 1948, making hand-made mustard in small batches, and its shop is at the St. Lawrence Market. The same kitchen makes a short line of rubs.

This pork rub blends paprika, brown mustard seed, brown sugar, sage and a touch of chipotle with star anise and cinnamon, for a warm, sweet and smoky crust. Rub it on roasts, chops and ribs before cooking, and try it on a slow-roasted shoulder for a fall Sunday.
