Made with Local began as a farmers' market table in Nova Scotia in 2012, when founder Sheena Russell sold a few dozen bars to her neighbours. Every bar and cookie starts with a base of organic oats grown on the Canadian prairies and is built around nut butters, honey and fruit from named Canadian farmers, with no palm oil and no sugar alcohols.
Pure lemon oil gives this bar the taste of a classic lemon square, and cashew butter gives it a soft baked, almost buttery texture. It makes an easy morning snack with a cup of tea.
