Jewels Under the Kilt is a women-owned maple roasted nut company from a farm outside Fergus, Ontario. Founder and Chief Roaster Elisabeth Burrow began roasting nuts in maple syrup after family gifts of syrup got her experimenting, and the recipes use locally sourced ingredients.

Hazelnuts, chosen for their earthy flavour, are coated in chocolate made from Mexican cacao that is simply roasted and ground with nothing added, then finished with maple syrup. Offer a bowl at the end of a fall supper.
