Jewels Under the Kilt is a women-owned maple roasted nut company from a farm outside Fergus, Ontario. Founder and Chief Roaster Elisabeth Burrow began roasting nuts in maple syrup after family gifts of syrup got her experimenting, and the recipes use locally sourced ingredients.
Local ginger and fresh pear combine into a fragrant roasted walnut that tastes like a ginger snap cookie. Scatter them over a fall salad, or graze on them with sharp cheddar.
