Suntree Natural Foods
In 1982, Suntree Natural Foods was opened as a bulk food store in downtown Port Hope, and it remains one of the oldest bulk food stores in Canada!In 2014, when Karen was coming off of her second maternity leave, she made the big decision and took the leap of faith with Jules to move from Toronto to Port Hope to purchase the natural food store. While she was on her maternity leave, she had made nearly daily trips to her local natural food store and was hooked. To Karen, there was nothing better than buying fresh, healthy foods while supporting a locally owned small business.
Karen and Jules, along with their two small daughters, poured all of their energy into updating Suntree and making it the community-focused destination it is today. Seven years in, they are so proud of their expanded product offering, modernized interior and exterior, and welcoming environment.
