Fianna potatoes have a smooth, pale yellow skin and white flesh. Large, oval shape and low water content, high in starch and dry matter, which makes these potatoes have a floury, delicate, and dry texture when cooked. They break up easily when cooked and absorb a lot of flavour and liquid. They are excellent for roasting, mashing, and making chips.
The Fianna cultivar was bred by J. P. G. Konst of Agrico, Nertherlands. Year unknown.
