Goldrush Potatoes have tan, russetted skin and bright white flesh. They are very firm when cooked, this early maturing russet variety is excellent for baking and french fries, and is also suited to boiling and perogies. The tubers are oblong to long, and grow to a medium size.
This cultivar was bred by the North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota and was released March 1st, 1992. It was bred from the Lemhi Russet variety, and is a distant ancestor to the Pioneer, Norgold, and Russet Burbank cultivars
