Description

Abokichi was founded by Fumi Tsukamoto and Jess Mantell, who began selling Japanese rice balls at farmers' markets around Toronto. They created OKAZU, an umami-rich condiment of chili, miso and sesame oil often eaten with rice in Japan, because the chili oils shipped from Japan usually contained preservatives, MSG and stabilizers. OKAZU won a Gold sofi Award in 2020.

OKAZU Spicy Chili Miso is a small-batch, plant-based condiment made with organic miso, bold and umami-rich, and it runs hot. Spoon it over rice, ramen and burgers, or use it as a topping, marinade or cooking ingredient.
