Ruby Gold potatoes have red skin and white flesh, with a light subtle flavour and creamy texture. These round-oblong tubers are moist and waxy, and suited to roasting.
This cultivar was developed by Agriculture Canada in Ontario from a cross between the 'Rhinered' and 'Rose Gold' varieties. It was released to the commercial market in 1994.
