Chives are a flowering herb from the onion family.
The stems are called scapes, and produce an edible purple flower. The leaves are thin and soft, resembling grass, and often enjoyed chopped over potatoes or eggs.
Chives are great to have in the garden because they repel pests and animals that come for your other flowers and veggies!
